About Me
I’m a private investigator turned screenwriter. My work explores the search for truth in a world of weaponized narratives, the human vulnerabilities that undermine power structures and how to love without self-sacrifice.
Prior to becoming a writer, I worked for the Mintz Group, where I conducted anti-corruption, due diligence and asset tracing investigations in Latin America, Europe and Africa. Highlights from my time as an investigator include helping recover money for victims of the world’s largest Ponzi scheme and helping clients understand their exposure to various corruption scandals, including Brazil’s Operation Car Wash and the Panama Papers.
I recently served as a co-showrunner of the award-winning western-noir fiction podcast Divorce Ranch. I currently write, co-direct and co-produce the SuperSkills series for AdaptedMind, an education technology company. The hand-drawn animated series follows two friendly monsters on narrative-driven, deeply researched adventures designed to teach important skills like a growth mindset, focus and emotional balance.
I have a B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley with a minor in Theater, Dance and Performance Studies. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English and creatively mediocre Italian.
In both my writing for children and adults, I seek to give viewers a bit of borrowed strength. My characters survive through wit, painful honesty and compassion rather than cruelty.
