The Territory

While at UC Berkeley, I wrote and directed a play called The Territory with Barestage Productions, the largest student theater group on campus. It tells the story of a young woman who takes up residence in a Parisian artist colony and fights against her need for approval as she navigates a tumultuous romance with the colony’s charismatic leader.

The play combined the “rhizomatic” techniques I learned studying directing with Pompeyo Audivert in Buenos Aires, with my classical training from directing and acting courses at UC Berkeley, NYU’s Tisch School summer program at Trinity College in Ireland, and Brown University’s Theaterbridge program.

I poured my whole soul into the play, which received a great review. The best reward though, was working with my cast and crew to create such a daring production!
